Please note that the manufacturer is no longer fixing labels to
individual pouches, to prevent sales of less than whole boxes.
I will attach the batch number and date to the pouch for your records.
The actual bait is inert until mixed so has an indefinite storage life if kept
in a dark cool place.
Full instructions at the bottom of this description.
You can use them for any CSI bait but I would love
it if you purchased it here.
One is not enough to cover your whole home but will give you a chance to take this
innovative product out for a spin and see just how easy external monitoring can be.
You can then come back and buy a full set.
Don't believe the bs some ads contain. Nothing buried in soil can actually attract termites
and that's a scientifically proven fact. They blunder into them during their relentless searching
for food and water.
Once you have eliminated the immediate termite threat you will need
something outside your home to help prevent a repeat invasion.
Do NOT expect a miracle colony elimination with one pouch.
Ignore any advertising claims to the contrary. The average CSI treatment can take
2 to 4 or more bait replenishments and many months to get the job done.
Useless against Mastotermes Darwiniensis.
No CSI type bait ( powder type mixed with water )
is suitable against these. You will need Termidor®
or a less effective copy
This listing is for

All leading CSI's ( Chitin Synthesis Inhibitors )

An Alpha-Cellulose 9004-34-6 base impregnated with 1% Chlorfluazuron.
Just check the APVMA web site for the facts. The only real variance is price & packaging.
Why Termatrix is cheaper than the rest ?
It's the new kid on the block with cheaper packaging.
The see through packaging is actually an advantage during termite treatment.
What is it's storage life ?
Kept dry and in the dark it will last 5 years or more.
The Queen termite is NOT your only problem.
I am not quite sure why some prattle on about how killing the termite queen
will solve your problem but it is absolutely untrue.
For the truth about 'Queen killing' see my Frequently Asked Questions
See through resealable pouches.
Easily SEE if termites have taken the bait without disturbing them.
Yes, I know that termites are supposed to avoid light but that's not really true.
Termites seal off exposed areas with mud to maintain their humidity and temperature
Having a see through pouch is such a singular advantage that I contacted the manufacturer
and suggested that they should not consider using opaque pouches in the future.
How does the TermatriX bait work?
Basically it prevents termites from moulting ( changing skin ), which kills them.
The TermatriX Termite Bait contains 1g/kg of Chlorfluazuron as the active constituent ( which is about as toxic as table salt ).
As termites feed and then travel back to the colony, they share termite bait with other nest mates (trophallaxis) and send
other termites back to feed on the bait. As feeding on the bait continues and more and more termites are affected, the
termite colony can die or be suppressed. The stages of colony decline will be identified and these include;
worker termites becoming creamish coloured (within first 2 weeks), lethargic worker termites (first 4 weeks), a larger
number of soldier termites and increased fungi (final stage of elimination).
What happens after Termites are eliminated?
Ongoing vigilance is recommended. The eliminated or suppressed colony was probably not the only threat
to your property. Other colonies may be foraging in the area and can use the existing pathways to pose another threat.
Is it dangerous to use ?
Whereas this bait is non-toxic to humans it's important to note that as with most
termite baits it is highly toxic to aquatic invertebrates,
so best read the Material Safety Data Sheet ( MSDS )
How to use Termatrix
Mixing the bait.
The bait can be mixed inside the pouch or in a clean container.
Add 200ml water to start then 10ml at a time until the bait mix 'just' holds it's shape.
It must not be runny.
Don't mix it until you are ready to commence treatment. It won't degrade or anything
but just easier to store in dry form.
Internal - Vertical Wall
We recommend using a specialised application box but any container you come up with is OK.
The only requirement is that the container can be sealed and opened easily, with very
little movement ( preferably none at all ) of the container during inspection.
Whichever container you use, ensure that a seal is formed around the hole you make by
using something like a silicon sealant in a ring at least 10mm from the edge of the hole.
Gently create a small hole ( around 10mm x 10mm ) in the surface you suspect has
If you don't see any activity just wait 5 minutes. If the area is active the little home
wreckers will soon commence repairs. If you still don't see any termites it's most likely
old damage so move on, nothing to see here.
When you do come across active termites it's treatment time.
Gently push some of the mixed bait into the hole and attach the application device ( yours
or ours ). Add the rest of the bait so that it connects with the small amount you pushed in.
Seal the device and come back in a week to see if termites have taken to the bait.
If you find the bait is all white then termites are either slow to take to it or haven't at all.
Reseal and wait another week. If same then give up on that location.
If you see live termites and dark spotting just reseal it and check in another 2 weeks.
Eventually you will see a mass of termite workings and the bait will take on the appearance
of dirty coarse steel wool with very little white bait visible. At this stage the bait will need to
be replenished by gently scooping out most of the dirty mass and adding fresh bait.
Repeat the inspection / bait replacement cycle at monthly intervals until no new activity is
Signs of imminent success to look for.
Mottled and lethargic workers.
Many more soldiers ( the bigger ones with large pincers ) than usual.
Internal - Skirting.
Basically the same process as above.
Outside - Over active in ground TDAKS detector.
Basically the same process as above.
